The high-end touring and freetouring bindings ATK FR14 (Free Raider 14) represent the pinnacle of Italian engineering in tech pin bindings. They are the equivalent of a CNC-machined titanium and magnesium monobloc brake caliper for Formula 1: combining extreme lightness of just 360 grams per unit with the torsional rigidity and direct transmission solidity of a competition alpine binding. Designed with a DIN adjustment range from 8.0 to 14.0, they come standard with the direct heel support accessory to eliminate torsion beneath the boot, the Elastic Response System with 12 mm of longitudinal cushioning, an automatic rear brake, and Magneto Heel Flaps risers.

Touring Ski Bindings

In high-performance motorsport, replacing cast parts with components machined from a single block of 7075 Ergal aerospace aluminum reduces unsprung mass while increasing structural strength against violent torsion. The ATK FR14 Free Raider bring this philosophy to extreme ski touring. Their architecture completely dispenses with weak structural plastics; the entire body is CNC-milled, providing micrometric precision and outstanding mechanical longevity.

Their main differentiator compared with traditional tech bindings is the inclusion of the adjustable freeride heel support: a support platform that makes direct contact with the boot sole, transmitting vertical and lateral pressures directly to the ski edges without the airborne play that fatigues traditional pins. To maintain safety during extreme landings and compression in jumps, the heel features the Elastic Response System® (ERS) with 12 mm of active longitudinal elasticity, allowing the ski to flex naturally without overloading the boot inserts or causing false releases. The Cam Release System® ensures smooth engagement and calibrated vertical/horizontal release from 8 to 14 DIN, while the toe piece with Snow Pack Proof geometry prevents compacted snow from blocking the jaws.
