The Marker F12 Tour EPF (ref. 7816W1LS, Size L 305-365 mm with 100 mm brake in Black / Anthracite finish) is the equivalent of a sporty all-wheel-drive SUV with a lightweight chassis: a binding that combines the structural strength and downhill safety of an alpine binding with the touring freedom of a pivoting frame binding. Important technical note: this binding features a traditional pivoting frame chassis (Frame Binding); it is NOT a hybrid binding and does NOT use Tech pins for ascending or descending. Ascents are performed by pivoting the entire frame body. Designed around the widened Extended Power Frame (EPF) platform with a Triple Pivot Light 2 toe piece, Hollow Linkage 2 heel piece, titanium climbing aids (0°, 7° and 13°), and a DIN range of 4 to 12, it is the ideal choice for skiers with long boot soles (305-365 mm) seeking all-terrain reliability without relying on boots with pin inserts.

Touring Ski Bindings

In the design of versatile all-terrain platforms, widening the chassis track while optimizing component weight makes it possible to channel high loads over uneven surfaces without overburdening the overall mass of the assembly. The Marker F12 Tour EPF brings this solution to versatile touring and freeride skiing. Its design is based on the Extended Power Frame (EPF) standard: a drilling and mounting pattern with a widened 46 mm track width that multiplies leverage on medium and wide skis, neutralizing torsion and transmitting force directly to the edges.

Unlike modern hybrid or ultralight bindings, this model does not require or use pin inserts in the boot. The uphill function is activated through its proven integral pivoting plate system (Frame Binding): by unlocking the Hike & Ride Switch lever protected beneath the boot sole, the entire binding assembly is released at the rear to pivot from the front axis. To tackle steep ascents, it features titanium climbing aids that can be switched on the move with a pole at angles of 0°, 7° and 13°. When the assembly is locked for descent, the lightweight Triple Pivot Light 2 toe piece (with a horizontal transverse spring and metal upper Anti Ice Rail profile) works together with the Hollow Linkage 2 heel piece with a hollow aluminum axle, ensuring firm retention and consistent dynamic elasticity against sudden impacts. Equipped with a height-adjustable sliding AFD anti-friction plate, it is fully compatible with traditional alpine boots (ISO 5355), GripWalk soles (ISO 23223), and conventional touring boots with welts (ISO 9523).
