In rally raids, a narrow and lightweight tubular chassis can climb trails where heavy vehicles get stuck. The Nordica Istas Flat ski applies this principle to Backcountry Touring. Its 80 mm waist acts like a narrow snow tire: it guarantees surgical edge grip on icy traverses during the ascent and allows for ultra-fast edge-to-edge transitions. It is a board built to devour positive vertical meters without dragging dead weight.

The mechanical masterpiece crowning this pack is the Dynafit Speed Radical binding. Equivalent to a manual gearbox machined from forged aluminum, it is stripped of brakes to save every possible gram and features Speed Step climbing bars operable with a pole. This expedition set is supplied without climbing skins, giving you a free chassis to mount the exact traction (100% mohair or mixed) required for your next alpine objective.
