Freeride Bindings with Rocker Chassis Marker Baron EPF 13 Size S (110 mm)
The Marker Baron EPF 13 (ref. 7516U1SA, Size S 265–325 mm with 110 mm brake) is the equivalent of a compact sporty off-roader with low-range gearing and all-wheel drive: an oversized, dependable, and reliable binding designed to make the most of aggressive descents with the stiffness of an alpine binding while allowing bootpack approaches to untouched slopes. Important technical note: this is a traditional pivoting frame binding (Frame Binding); it is NOT a hybrid binding and does NOT use Tech pins for climbing or descending. Uphill travel is achieved by pivoting the entire plate assembly. Equipped with the widened Extended Power Frame (EPF) platform, Triple Pivot Elite 3 toe piece, Inter Pivot 3 heel piece, and a DIN range of 4 to 13, it is the ideal option for skiers with standard to compact boot sizes seeking maximum solidity without relying on pin inserts.

Bindings
In the design of high-performance off-road vehicles, a reinforced chassis and generous track width are indispensable for maintaining directional stability over uneven terrain without suffering from unwanted body roll. The Marker Baron EPF 13 brings this architecture to versatile ski touring and freeriding. Its structural support lies in Extended Power Frame (EPF) technology: a wide mounting platform with 46 mm spacing between screws that optimizes lateral leverage on wide freeride skis, eliminating torsional flex and channeling pressure immediately to the edges.
Unlike modern hybrid systems, this model does not require pin inserts in the boot. Its touring functionality is delivered through its proven integral pivoting plate system (Frame Binding): by unlocking the Hike & Ride Switch lever protected beneath the sole, the entire binding releases at the rear to pivot from the front axle. On uphill slopes, it features titanium climbing aids that are easy to operate with a pole and adjustable to 0°, 7°, and 13°. For downhill skiing, the Triple Pivot Elite 3 toe piece (equipped with a horizontal transverse spring and an Anti Ice Rail metal top plate for scraping off ice) works in perfect sync with the Inter Pivot 3 heel piece, delivering uncompromising retention and superior elastic travel to prevent unwanted releases on landings and compressions. Its height-adjustable sliding AFD plate ensures multi-standard compatibility with traditional alpine boots (ISO 5355), GripWalk soles (ISO 23223), and standard lugged touring boots (ISO 9523).
