The women's Völkl Blaze 86 W skis (ref. 121436, available exclusively in the 166 cm length) are sold as loose skis without bindings included (flat format for custom drilling in the workshop). They are the equivalent of an ultralight two-seater sports car with adaptive suspension: exceptionally agile, responsive, and with a smooth, dampened ride feel. Designed for both all-mountain/resort freeride and light ski touring (freetouring), they feature an 86 mm waist, 3D Radius Sidecut geometry, a lightweight Hybrid Multilayer Woodcore core, full-length straight Full Sidewall edges, and elastic Suspension Tips & Tails damping. With a featherweight of just ~1375 g per ski, they deliver instant edge-to-edge transitions and total vibration absorption on chopped or groomed snow.

All-Mountain Skis

In modern high-level sports engineering, eliminating unnecessary mass from the chassis without sacrificing elasticity or dynamic composure enables lightning-fast line changes with minimal physical effort. The Völkl Blaze 86 W 166 cm applies this lightweight, advanced architecture to versatile ski touring and off-piste skiing. Its internal structure features the Hybrid Multilayer Woodcore, a carefully engineered combination of ultra-light wood strips with dense wood beneath the binding area, ensuring pull-out-proof screw retention and immediate elastic response out of every turn.

Rather than using heavy full-length metal sheets, the Blaze 86 W incorporates Suspension Tips & Tails elastomer inserts in the tip and tail: a thermoplastic polyurethane profile that acts as an elastic bumper at the ends, absorbing impacts from hardpack or crusty snow before they travel up to the skier's legs. Its great maneuverability comes from the 3D Radius Sidecut system (with radii of 25 m at the tip, 13 m underfoot and 21 m at the tail for this 166 cm size): this triple curvature allows short, tight turns with the agility of a slalom ski, or letting the skis run at high speed while maintaining long, progressive edge support without catching. Its Tip & Tail Rocker profile provides immediate float in spring snow or soft powder. Supplied without bindings (flat skis), it allows the customer to configure it as desired with alpine piste bindings (Marker Squire 11) or mount it with technical touring bindings (Marker Alpinist / Kingpin), selecting 90 mm brakes.
