All-Mountain Skis
In the engineering of high-performance sports cars, combining a rigid chassis with elastic shock-absorbing elements makes it possible to devour miles at high speed with complete serenity and without fatigue. The Völkl Flair 79 applies this technology to modern women's piste skiing (all-conditions on-piste). Its "chassis" uses the Dual Woodcore XL core, a combination of two longitudinal hardwood stringers separated by air channels that significantly reduce weight without sacrificing liveliness or elastic responsiveness. Reinforcing this core is the Powered by Steel sheet, a thin layer of spring steel that provides torsional stiffness, neutralizes vibrations at high speeds, and ensures consistent edge grip on icy snow patches.
Its cornering performance is defined by the Center Sidewall construction, which concentrates a straight sidewall edge under the boot to maximize power transmission, combined with a 3D.Ridge structure that thins the profile at the ends, reducing swing inertia. Its Tip & Tail Rocker profile allows you to alternate between short, tight turns and wide, open-radius turns with minimal hip effort. Power transmission is handled by the integrated wide-plate system Marker iPT WR XL 11 TCX GW (ref. 6735T1.VL, F19 catalog version or 6735V1.VO): an extra-wide mounting platform (Wide Ride XL) screwed directly into the ski body so as not to block the ski's natural flex, featuring a TCX TwinCam heel piece, intelligent-release toe piece, DIN range from 3 to 11, and official GripWalk certification.
